On 16 May 2009, undaunted by the initially threatening weather, over 125 adults and children took part in Shropshire Mind’s first ever big charity walk.
Walkers had a choice of routes ranging from a short potter around the SecretHills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms, to a more demanding 24 mile circular walk.
The sunshine eventually broke through and the day was a great success for an initial event and raised over £2,000 in registration donations and sponsorship.
Feedback from those who took part was good too, so much so that the event will be repeated this year on 15 May 2010.
Shropshire Mind would like to thank all those that took part and the staff of the Discovery Centre and Shropshire Council for all their help and support, together with Tesco who kindly provided fruit and refreshments for the weary walkers.
